The Story Behind Assembly Studios
Fitness has always been a part of my life.
I’ve always had a strong connection to it. The gym was more than just a place for me, it was where I built discipline, found clarity, and felt my strongest.
But in 2022, everything changed.
I was diagnosed with lupus, and my body began to feel unfamiliar. The joint pain, the stiffness, the loss of mobility forced me to slow down in ways I never had before. I had to step away from the routines that once made me feel strong, and for a while, I felt disconnected from myself. My doctor told me to put the weights down, put the gym on pause, and move towards Tai-Chi and Pilates.
I was distraught. Ignorant to the concept, all I could think was “those aren’t real work outs! that’s like stretching and breathing!” I was heartbroken and ultimately felt defeated. But I took his advice and signed up for the only Pilates studio I’ve ever heard of, Club Pilates.
What started as a path to recovery became something so much deeper. Pilates taught me how to move with intention, how to listen to my body instead of pushing past it, and how to rebuild strength in a way that felt sustainable and empowering. It didn’t just help me heal physically, it reshaped my entire perspective on what strength truly means.
Today, I believe that a strong body isn’t just about how much you can lift or how far you can push. It’s about showing up for yourself, even on the hard days. It’s about choosing growth over perfection. It’s about how you feel in the body that you’re in over how you look. It’s about committing to becoming just 1% better, every single day.
Recovery, consistency, and growth all begin with how you think and how you show up for yourself. The way you speak to yourself, the patience you give your body, the discipline to keep showing up are the things that shape your progress. Your body follows your mind, and when your mindset shifts, everything else begins to fall in place. Real strength starts with your mind.
My why is simple: help people reconnect with themselves and get back to where they’re meant to be. To feel strong in their bodies, calm in their minds and grounded in who they are.
Strong bodies. Calm minds.
